Special Care Clinic

For the convenience of the frail, elderly, and the medically complex adult over 18 years of age, comprehensive dental services are offered in one easily accessible clinic location. All patients are assigned to faculty members who coordinate their care with senior dental students.

Recognizing that every individual has special needs, all factors, such as health problems, age-associated problems, transportation and other personal needs are taken into consideration in determining appropriate dental treatment.

For the needs of our patients, the Special Care Clinic provides:

The Special Care Clinic is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For further information or to make an appointment, please call (319) 335-7373.

Faculty in the Special Care Clinic are available to see private patients. We provide complete dental services for all adults, with an emphasis on prevention, oral health maintenance, and total patient treatment planning. Fees are comparable to other private practices. For an appointment in our faculty practice, please call (319) 335-7373.

Patients and visitors may park in the Visitor’s Parking Lot located next to the Dental Science Building. An hourly rate is charged.
