National Health Agencies of Iowa

Our greatest challenges have been and always will be, improving the quality of life and fulfilling the hopes of thousands of ill and disabled Iowans who are awaiting a remedy to their medical problems. We do this through:

RESEARCH:
NHAI member agencies support research in Iowa and throughout the United States. Since 1987, NHAI member agencies provided well over nine million dollars to medical research at Iowa universities. As government spending shrinks, these grants become more significant.

SERVICES:
In addition to contributing millions of dollars to medical research in Iowa, member agencies provide patient/family services such as: support groups, skills and employment training, specialized equipment, and summer camps. No dollar amount can be assigned to these community services.

PUBLIC/PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION:
The agencies bring national and international authorities to Iowa to share the latest in research, diagnosis and treatments with the medical community. They offer important and timely information on prevention, early diagnosis, healthy lifestyles, clinics and referrals through brochures, presentations and the media. Staff and trained volunteers are available for speeches and presentations.

A Contribution to Your Community

All NHAI member agencies serve the entire state of Iowa. That means the contribution you make helps people you know... fellow Iowans... whether they live in the next county or are the family next door.

When a serious or chronic disease strikes, people know we are here to provide information, support groups, service or equipment for patients and families. Call us, we want to be of service.

The National Health Agencies of Iowa is asking you for your help in our Fall Campaign. You can make a contribution to NHAI and its member agencies through an outright cash give or by a payroll deduction. Your contribution will mean more programs for Iowans and more progress toward better health for you family, friends, and neighbors, for all Iowans!

The University of Iowa community sees firsthand the impact of our health agency research grants. You have been generous donors over the years. We are grateful and thank you.

Please designate one or more NHAI agencies to receive your contribution when you fill out your pledge card this year.
