The University of Iowamain campus is located in Iowa City, IA, within east-central Iowa. The Cancer Center is University-based and serves to enhance all of the cancer-related investigative, educationa l and service missions of the entire University community as well as the citizens of the region.
The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is Iowa's only center for comprehensive, tertiary-level cancer care. The Clinical Cancer Center provides 88 inpatient beds, an ambulatory care clinic with 26 examination rooms; a Chemotherapy Administration Suite that contains 16 private stations; a dedicated hematology laboratory; an oncology pharmacy; a dedicated cytology laboratory with 3 rooms for fine needle aspiration; dedicated rooms for transf usion and apheresis therapy; a dedicated breast imaging and diagnostic center; a fluoroscopy suite; and an ultrasound diagnostic facility.
