The Dows Institute for Dental Research of the University of Iowa's
College of Dentistry ranks among the most respected dental research organizations in the United States and the world.
The Institute, established in 1976, grew out of the Dows Fund
for Dental Research established as a result of gifts from the Dows family
of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, through the Frances M. and
Sutherland D. Dows Trusts.
