- Assist patients/visitors/staff with requests, information and referral
- Work with patients and visitors who are dissatisfied
- Provide support/assistance in critical care areas and during crisis
- Visit patients/families throughout the hospital
- Follow up on missing/damaged property
- Investigate patient Informm inquiries
- Have adult clothing items for patients/visitors in need
- Maintain Patient Need Fund for small loans and purchases
- Assist the Red Cross with service to military families
- Supervise volunteers who assist visitors in SICU/PICU Waiting Area
- Assist the patient representative in the Day of Surgery Lounge and visit patients
Lois Bolware Day of Surgery Lounge
The Day of Surgery Lounge is the waiting are for visitors of patients who are having
surgery in the main OR. The patient representatives facilitate surgical reports
and provide information for waiting visitors.
The Lounge is unlocked by Security by 6:00 a.m. and staffed continuously by a patient
representative from 8:30 a.m. until closing (between 6:30-7:00 p.m.).
